In case you need to change train or bus, you may even take 5 or 6 hours to run a distance of 50 km, since the interchange connections are not scheduled to fit with another. So you’d better plan your travels in order to avoid loss of time and long waiting in far away train and bus stations. If you have to move from one side to the other of the island, in general the itineraries along the coast are quicker, whereas it might take an entire day to cross the inland north-south or east-west.
