Catania Surroundings
The city of Catania is surrounded by some of the finest landscape attractions of Sicily. Within few kilometres are gathered the beautiful rocky bays of the Cyclopes Riviera, whereas the volcano Etna dominates the entire east side of the island, offering a wide range of excursions to the villages lying on its slopes and on the spectacular path that leads up to its top. Some of these villages can be easily reached by public transports, like Circumetnea railway . As for the volcano foothills, the best thing to do is to join a guided tour.
